With climate change and urbanisation acting as an accelerant to a range of different types of flood impacts, it is more vital than ever that organisations work together to mitigate flood risk. In 2019, Prof. Yu and Dr Avi Baruch co-founded Previsico as a spin-out from Loughborough University to achieve their mission of preventing avoidable flood impacts globally. This session will cover how they were able to transform a research project to a rapidly growing company helping insurers, businesses, governments and humanitarian organisations mitigate flood impacts.

The gender gap and the impact on wealth equity
Longstanding societal and business inequities have disparately affected wealth accumulation for women. Although over the last few years we have seen an increased focus on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), women worldwide are expected to accumulate significantly lower levels of wealth compared to men. In collaboration with the World Economic Forum, WTW have developed a new global Wealth Equity Index measuring differences in accumulated wealth in 39 countries and assessed the driving factors behind this inequity.
